After we were done in the market Dani took us on a journey to the countryside. We met an 80+ yr old incense roller, ate palm sugar candy, listened to a bicycle repairman / musician, had our toxins removed by a practitioner of "cupping" - a traditional medicine procedure (that required a lot of cups). We saw bamboo flutes being made and a family making rice noodles with simple machines that haven't changed in 100s of years. We saw rice being transplanted, witnessed lunch at a Buddhist temple, saw how charcoal is made, sampled local honey, and had conversations about life in Cambodia and America and made it back to the guest house just as the rain started to fall.
